| wasting away |

Isaiah 24: The earth will be completely laid waste...the earth dries up..the world languishes and withers..the earth is defiled by its people: they have disobeyed the laws..no longer do they drink wine with a song; the beer is bitter to its drinkers..
O:
The people suffered from their sins. The land suffered the effects of sin.
A:
How i see so much of the results of sin from the generations before us. I see it active in the interaction with friends, on the way to work, in my workplace, on the way home through conversations on the train, in myself. Poverty all around, selfishness, pride, idolatry, pollution..the list goes on. Hope for this world seems to be too far away to reach for me today with all i've experienced around me. Hearts very much astray..
P:
God, renew my hope. Hope for the things in life with what i had hoped for. So much crap and 'falling short of your glory' around me, i feel sick. Give me eyes of faith to see again. Bring me back to the elementary truths of Your Living Word all over again. Please.. |
